Language Laboratory

English is a language of opportunities and it plays a vital role in securing desirable employment. Accuracy and fluency in the use of language are very essential. Technology aided learning has started playing a significant role in the pursuit of language learning. In Agnel Polytechnic we have a language lab, well equipped with computers, aimed at improving communication skills of the students. It enables the students to expedite the process of learning skills with more emphasis on LSRW (listening speaking reading and writing skills) leading to desirable employment. The language lab intends to develop the confidence level of students and it motivates them to use their language skills outside the classrooms as well.

The Lectern in language lab is a valuable tool for preparing the students to be speakers and presenters in the near future. They get a lot of practice in public speaking and gain confidence in expressing their views to the audience, It helps to improve their voice modulation, pitch, accent and posture.

The main objectives of language lab are:

1. To develop competence of engineering students in all four primary skills such as listening speaking reading and writing, through computer aided teaching
2. To emphasize the importance of English as a medium of learning academic subjects
3. To facilitate the students to shed fear and anxiety when speaking English
4. To equip students with confidence to undergo placement programs through round the year practice in small presentations, group discussions debates and mock interviews
5. To enhance spoken skills through various software / computer programs
6. To make them aware of the need to learn pronunciation through word, accent, intonation and rhythm
7. To facilitate them to acquire communication skills and soft skills in communication
