Civil Engineering Department
Civil Engineering Department was established in the year 1983. Diploma in Civil Engineering is an undergraduate program with a duration of 3 years, offering extensive training in planning, designing, and executing civil infrastructure. Aspiring individuals in the field of civil engineering find this program valuable for their career aspirations.
Diploma in Civil Engineering is a 3-year diploma course with 6 semesters. The course is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).The distinguishing aspect of this program is its compulsory eight-week internship during the fifth semester, which immerses students in real-world construction site environments. In addition to classroom instruction, the department organizes regular field visits, guest lectures, and leadership camps to enhance students’ learning experiences. The Department of Civil Engineering, contributes to ever growing need of building industry, service sector and community institute-industry interaction through the alumni.
- To develop competent Civil Engineering professionals with sound ethical values
- To impart technical knowledge and skills in the domain of Civil Engineering to students through effective teaching learning processes.
- To prepare students for successful employment, entrepreneurship and higher education.
- To develop professionals with ethics, concern for environment and sustainability.
- To enhance technical skills through industry – institute interaction.

Engineering Mechanics
The Engineering Mechanics Laboratory is designed to provide hands-on experience and practical understanding of fundamental principles in mechanics. It allowsconducting experiments to analyse forces, moments, and equilibrium conditions on structures and mechanicalsystems.
Material & Structures
The Material & Structures Laboratory focuses on experimentation and analysis of materials’ mechanical properties and behaviour under different loading conditions. Its basic functions include: Conducting experiments to determine material properties such as tensile strength, compressive strength, shear strength, and torsional strength.
Concrete Technology
A Concrete Technology Laboratory has a facility equipped for testing the properties of concrete, the raw materials used to make concrete. The primary purpose of this lab is to study the properties, behaviour, and performance of concrete, which is a fundamental material used in construction worldwide.
Surveying
The laboratory is equipped with a variety of surveying instruments and tools essential for accurate measurement and mapping of land features. This includes theodolites, total stations, levels and other ancillary equipment like tripods, rods and staff.
Soil Mechanics
A Soil Mechanics Laboratory is a facility equipped for testing the properties of soil, which is essential for the safe design of foundations, slopes, retaining walls, and other civil engineering structures.
Hydraulics
The Hydraulics laboratory is equipped with various experimental setups including venturi meter, channels, pipes, pumps, and measuring devices such as flow meters and pressure gauges.
Public Health Engineering
The Public Health Engineering laboratoryis equipped with various experimental setups for testing water quality.
